A special
day soon arrived. Britney had been so busy with her project to take over the
local newspaper, that she hadn’t had much time for any of her children or the
house. Karim tried to fulfil her tasks, but since he had never kept a house
clean in his entire life, the result was a messy house. Britney was dragged
away from her research to change diapers, clean bottles and everything else her
husband apparently was not capable of. She had always wanted a family and a
supporting husband, which is why she sometimes wondered where she had gone
wrong.
But before
she could think about this any longer, it was time for the twins’ birthdays. Of
course, Karim took Cyra out of her crib and brought her to the cake, which was
put outside due to the lovely weather. [a/n: included this photobomb on full
purpose, because I found it hilarious that Kokette wanted to blow out the candles,
as well]
While her
hair had grown longer during the last months, Cyra’s grey eyes had stayed
exactly the same. Kind of sparkling, but not in a really good way. Britney
could already tell this one was going to be difficult.
Then it was
time for Christina to grow up, as well. They both ignored the fact that Karim
went inside, claiming that he was freezing, and blew out the candles passionately.
One could
tell that Christina had often been kept occupied with food instead of
attention. Her chubby face, surrounded by dark brown hair, reminded a lot of
Karim’s look before he moved in. There was also not a sign of a smile in her
face, or her eyes.
What the
parents had almost forgotten in all the commotion was that their youngest was
also already growing up straight after that. One day was barely enough to bake
a new cake and wrap up the last toys, but they made it.
Christopher
was a lovely boy, inheriting his mother’s hair and his father’s eyes. Karim,
who of course was the one to lift him out of the crib, couldn’t have been more
proud. This was his boy, and he was determined to accomplish great things.
Cyra and
Christina surprisingly bonded the instant they grew up into children. Britney
had expected them to be very different characters who didn’t get along, but
they did. Christina admired how outgoing her sister was, and Cyra was more than
happy to play the big sister.
After
having nobody for her entire life, it almost seemed like Christina had made a
friend now. Excitable, as she was, she refused to believe that Cyra had any bad
ulterior motives, so she dedicated all of her free time to her sister, who was
just as old as her, but seemed to be more experienced already.
Her second
friend in this household was Kokette, who often came running to her and asked
for carrots. Christina loved that the unicorn accepted her as she was,
overweight and silent, and friendly nudged her no matter what her day had been
like. Kokette loved her unconditionally, something she had barely experienced
before.
Her sister,
however, had. At least it seemed like that. She had a great start in school and
was admired by all of her classmates, which made her father more than proud.
They spent the weekends together, playing and chatting away, not caring about
the others. As long as her career was going this way, Cyra clearly was on the
sunny side of life.
Hmm. Well, I'm glad to see that Christina and Cyra are becoming so close, but Cyra's not exactly the best kid for Christina to idolize. Of course, Cyra hasn't exactly DONE anything yet. She just has some blackness in her heart.
ReplyDeleteShe surely likes the fact that Christina is looking up to her. Most kids would, probably, but you're right - there is something in her heart that longs for more.
DeleteI hope Christina realises that she doesn't need to look up to Cyra. She's her own person and a great one at that! She should work her hardest to prove her *insert profanity here* father wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe picture of Kokette amused me greatly. She must be angry that she hasn't had much screen time!
